In Horror films they will deal with the audiences nightmares, Hidden fears, and terror of the unknown. They will involve a force of evil or bringing the supernatural into the natural world.
What is interesting about horror is they use innocents of children and childhood and revise it into something evil such as child killers or children ghosts, something you wouldn't normally expect.
